Empakai Crater is unique pristine green paradise caldera nestled within Ngorongoro Conservation Area highlands in altitude of 3280m above sea level.
Empakai crater with approximately 6km wide endowed by spectacular view from the rim, wildlife, colorful birds, evergreen vegetation and deep soda lake on the crater floor with abundance of lesser flamingoes and other wild species inhabited along lake shores as waterbuck and buffaloes.
Empakai has steep walls rising to some 300m from the floor covered with green montane forest with beautiful colorful birds and wild flowers. Also the soda lake found inside crater floor is among the deepest soda lake in East Africa which supports various aquatic species.
Empakai crater has a dramatic views and spectacular trails downward so suitable for nature walking, trekking and hiking safari. From the crater rim you can spot the iconic mount ol doinyo lengai, Lake Natron situated down to the Great Rift Valley wall.
Empakai crater support abundance varieties of the plants and wild animals include buffalo, waterbuck, bushbuck, blue monkey, sunbirds, turacos and flamingo.
